CEOS 4th Annual Banquet
The Collaborate to Educate Our Son’s (CEOS) 8th Anniversary Celebration of Hope and Inspiration got off to an excellent start on Thursday, September 22, 2016, with the 4th Annual Awards and Fundraising Banquet. It was once again held at the Key Bridge Marriott in Arlington, Virginia, where the ballroom provided panoramic views of Georgetown and the Washington, D.C. skyline. The banquet theme, “The Mind: The Most Potent Weapon – Use It Constructively,” continues to speak a timeless truth that is particularly relevant to the present climate in our country and our world.
Emcee, Ms. Jacquie Gales Webb, graciously set the pace and provided leadership for the banquet. After Mr. Chris Daley welcomed everyone, both Mr. Richard and Mrs. Tai Mei Gordon reminded those present of the reason for the occasion. Mr. Karnik Doukmetzian gave the invocation prayer. Not only did the Psalmist, Mr. Duawne Starling, provide several beautiful and melodious musical selections throughout the evening, but he also gave us the story and the writing process behind his music, as well as how he has been able to overcome many of life’s challenges through music.
